I like the Ruger American rifles. They always seem to fit me well and are good shooters. The 223/556 ranch is no different. I personally like the short barrel length of the scout but if you are looking for a longer barrel the predator might be a better option. The fact that this gun takes standard AR mags is a plus.
I shot about 60 + rounds through this at the range, after zeroing the Leupold 1.5 - 4x20 Pig Plex I mounted to it with pretty decent groups on zero. I was hitting pretty consistently at 300 yards. I am pretty sure I could hit farther with a decent spotter, but unfortunately, I was alone.
The bolt didn't hang-up on me or bind, I have heard some do out of the box, due to the grind finish on the bolt(?). Anyway, no issues on mine, the trigger seemed pretty consistent and predictable. It's all set if I decide to throw a can on it, ultimately, I like it and I am glad I picked it up! It doesn't strike me as a POS, the only thing I want to do is tone down the bright red Ruger symbol on the stock, the one that screams "here I am!". No other complaints!
Delivery was faster than expected thanks guys! Much appreciated!
Been waiting for one of these for a while and was not disappointed.
One-two inch groups at 100 yards. Purchase through Gunprime was smooth and shipped quick.
