Description

1944 Rock-Ola M1 Carbine. This rifle is a very late production example of a Rock-Ola M1 and dates from the final 28000 rifle-sized production block of Rock-Ola carbines. While the mixing-and-matching of parts from manufacturers in M1 production was common, this carbine has both a Rock-Ola barrel and a Rock-Ola receiver. The Type-3 Barrel band/bayonet mount is a Quality Hardware part and is correct for a post-war arsenaled rifle; the "JAO" marked rear sight is also the correct sight for the era. The magazine is an Underwood example. Condition is exceptional. Wood on the Type IV M2 stock (correct for a post-war arsenaled gun) is in excellent condition with no real damage and most of a strong crossed-cannon cartouche. Parkerized metal surfaces are without flaws except for a little wear on the bottom of the trigger guard, while bolt shows a little normal wear but no scoring or discoloration. Bore is excellent. Mechanical function is excellent. A sling is fitted to the carbine. A superb example of an M1.
